Weekend kick-started early, with a small gathering at this cute little outlet. Known to be primarily a bakery, they are open till late, and possibly, the only one to remain open till 1 in the night on weekends.
The place is easy to spot on the main road, but has a bit of a parking issue. The empty plot in the neighborhood is put to use for that.
The decor is that of a warm cafe, done in pleasant hues. The table tops are old window frames with their latches and nets intact, topped with glass. A little wooden cart holds the spoons and the forks on the table for you.
We started of with cookies in 4 varieties: Chocolate chip, coconut, sesame and ajwain. All were crisp and fresh, especially loved the coconut one.
Next we were served three pastries, Red Velvet, Triple chocolate love and Choco crunch. The choco crunch has no gluten and no added sugar, but the taste isn't short of anything. Loved the red velvet, as it wasn't the usual, heavy to eat one. It was light and with a balanced sweetness.
To avoid the palate being loaded with sweets, we were served garlic bread. The bread was toasted well, and topped with good amount of cheese and seasoning, served alongside mayonnaise dip.
For the beverage part, we got to taste the array of all flavours of cold coffee, besides the regular one. I can't really comment on which one was best, it would be quite subjective to personal taste. They have Red wine sangria, choco mint, and Malibu copycat amongst others.
The next round of sweetness came in the form of extremely delectable Tiramisu. It would be hard to put down once you start digging it. One of the finest I have ever come across.
We switched to savouries, again. There was Karampodi Burger, Tandoori Paneer Panini and Spicy Maggi Panini. The last one stood out! It's the kind of fast food you usually crave. The Maggi was flavourful, and sandwiched between the breads, it could be a complete meal in itself. The burgers were good, too. They aren't too small or too big, but laden with stuffings you can't ignore. The other panini had grated paneer, mixed with cheese.
Last round of goodness came in jars. We were informed that they have like 25 varieties of jar cakes. The ones we tasted were the more popular amongst the buyers: blueberry, red velvet, chocolate, Nutella. Blueberry and Red Velvet stood out for me, hands down.
Being more than full, we expected that it was time to conclude, but our host, Rajat, brought out the showstopper Chocolove. Cake at the base, topped with ice-cream, caramel sauce, candies, KitKat and what not. If you're a dessert person, you could make a meal out of this!
This little café is definitely worth a visit, not too costly, and open till late!
