Marsala Food Company

I had my inhibitions when I first received an invite to this place; I was skeptical as to whether they'd have any vegetarian delicacies to offer. But I was assured that they do have varieties for the non-carnivore ones. So, along with a friend, I headed to the place last Tuesday, for dinner. Located opposite and just a bit off the DLF Gate 3, the place is easy to spot. Despite being a new place, and despite being a weeknight, there was a decent amount of crowd. The place is done up in dim lights, and proper seating, that gives you a feel of fine dine. They also have a lower seating option, wherein settis have been kept, for a more comfortable feel. Here is the vegetarian experience of the place. 1. Mushroom Moti Kebab: Must try! The mushrooms were stuffed with fillings that included dry fruits as well. 2. Hara Bhara Kebab: A rare occasion that I was reaching out for a second helping. Another must try. 3. Achari Paneer Tikka: Proper tanginess of the achaar, on succul...

Plush Creamery - Kukatpally

Plush Creamery recently opened their second outlet in the food court of Manjeera Mall, Kukatpally. I got the opportunity to try out some of their offerings. Here is how it went. To start off, we tasted a series of their scoops. They were all naturally made, without any extra flavours added. I tasted: Sitaphal Honey Almond Blueberry Butterscotch Red velvet Coffee Caramel Chocolate I would definitely recommend Blueberry, red velvet, caramel and coffee. These topped the list, while others were a close behind.  Next on, we tried the Twirls. Dry Fruit Twirl Mocha Twirl Choco Fudge Twirl Banana Twirl Dark Chocolate Twirl Choco Fudge won for me, here. If you are a fan of banana, you may like that one as well. Dark Chocolate and Mocha ones were equally good.  The last on our list were the Mango and Litchi shakes, which felt like they had too much flavour added. The mango was still good, though.  Overall, if you are looking for a quick...

DaBao - Madhapur

A new offering from the owners of Istah Shawarmas, DaBao is a refreshingly good desi Chinese delivery joint. I usually don't prefer to eat Chinese outside, as most of the places just unload a lot of chilli, thereby destroying the joy of other flavours, which isn't the case with DaBao. I got my Saturday night's dinner from them, and here is how it went. For starters, we had Honey Chilli Potato and Veg Manchurian. Potatoes were the right amount of sweet and chilly, and not burnt to sticks, and the manchurian balls were soft and flavourful. The quantity of both the starters was good as well. Do give the Potato a try. For the mains, there was Schezwan Fried Rice and Chilli Butter Garlic Noodles. I LOVED the noodles! And even loved seems to be an understatement. I enjoyed the flavours so much! After a long time, I had a Schezwan Fried Rice, wherein there was no excess chilli burning my tongue. Along with these, there were 4 dips that came along. If you are someone who wou...

The Faasos Story

Following is a consolidation of the reviews for various Faasos offerings.  FAASOS Faasos has been a name familiar to us, for quite long now. They offer filling meals, in the form of wraps. My tryst with Fasoos consisted of Mexican Potato Salsa wrap, and the Cheese Melt Paneer wrap. The signature wraps have a sheet of maida roti, generously loaded with the choice of fillings. A single wrap is capable of sufficing your hunger pangs. The Mexican wrap had potato, like it's present in Shwarmas and the Paneer wrap was big on cheese. They come neatly packed in handy boxes, accompanied with their specially packed Masala packets, to make your meals more interesting! OVENSTORY PIZZA Craving a good pizza? Ovenstory could be your answer! I tried the Famous Five Pizza. The topping of the pizza came in a form that felt like the ingredients have been blended in a gravy. The paneer chunks, corn, olives, jalapeños and onions, all were present in good quantity. The crust was fluffy, and not ...

Palato

This review is coming after 2 visits, as the first one wasn't enough to judge it completely. And there are zero faults to be found. The place has taken over the erstwhile Blanc Glace, sometime back. Though they are famous for their buffet lunch, I have been here only in the evenings, for the A la carte dining. The place has quite some area indoors, and with tables spread out at some distance from each other, it gives a feel of being even more spacious. Of course, there is the outdoor seating as well, that is certain to give you a typical café kind of feels. There's the dessert parlour (Desserts & Co) next to it, serving gelato in a plethora of flavours, as well as some delectable desserts. You can order from there, have it and pay on your table itself, but the billing would be separate. Food? Love whatever I have tried till now! That includes cheese Garlic Bread, Veg Quesadillas, Veg Lasagna and Quattro Formaggi Pizza. The garlic bread was crisp, and generously smeared wit...

The Hole in The Wall Cafe

There are places that question your senses, because there would be people raving about it (and the ratings would, consequentially, be high), and there would be you, being snobby and not liking anything at all. You get what I am try to say. The same happened with The Hole in the Wall Cafe.  It was last Sunday, when our girl gang decided to meet at brunch here. Located on Road 45, near the traffic signal, the place isn't too hard to spot. There are three areas for seating-near the entrance, out in the open, and on the level above. The place is done very beautifully, and there's no second thought about that. Because there were 7 of us, a table was arranged for us upstairs. Though there were a lot of dishes ordered, here is the low down of the vegetarian and eggitarian ones.  1. The Spicy Amigo sandwich: I write about this first, because it was easily one of the better dishes of that day. The filling may feel a bit tangy, but in a good way, and the portion, too, was more than goo...
