The Indi Grill - Gachibowli

Question: How do you go wrong with a barbecue-on-table kind of buffet restaurant in this area? Answer: You don't. I would rate the place a 3.5 out of 5, as it offers something extra for the same price, and is a change from the existing joints. Moti Mahal is an iconic chain of restaurants, and The Indi Grill is their latest offering, located right on the main road, near Radisson. This is its vantage point - easily accessible to the corporate offices for lunches. The prices are also reasonable, mid-range sort of. I loved how bright and well-lit the place was, and the glass walls giving you a view of the outside. The food drill was pretty much the same as usual. There are some starters that are served, and some that are put on the grill on your table. Former included: crispy corn, cajun potatoes, honey chilli potatoes, bhutani veg and the latter comprised of Achari paneer tikka, mushroom, pineapple, and grill vegetables. Their Sunday menu is more extensive, and includes a lot more di...

Prism - Gachibowli

Prism is touted to be the owner of a huge club space, and rightly so. The place is located somewhere in Financial District, after you take a turn from the Lemon Tree hotel. I pretty much had no clue about where I was exactly, and the almost stranded road is of not much help. Until you suddenly see the big lit up sign with the word Prism inscribed on it, though conveniently covered by the bushes around it. Another 100m or so, you reach their parking yard, and finally the enter the premises after it. A huge velvety door opens into this big sized covered arena (for a lack of better word), that tell you that it can never get overcrowded on the dance floor. The place has high tables next to the dance area, and then some couches on the far side. There is a beautifully lit up staircase, that leads to a more relaxed lounge kind of seating. And that is just one part of it. They have an outdoor seating, where the projector is put up for the match screening, and doubles up as the smoking z...

Sound Garden - Kondapur

The Sound Garden experience happened early in the week, on a Tuesday night, and I was surprised to find it bustling with crowd on a weeknight. But then, the corporate offices thronging the area have numerous people looking to head out for food & drinks post work, and it is not possible to not return to this place, once you have been here! The space is large enough to have separate sections for the club and the restaurant experience. We were there for a review session, and the dance floor section was utilised to accommodate us. There are artifacts hanging down from the ceiling, that make you go wow! There are a few tables with high chairs, and a bar in the corner, and then there's seating space above this. For once, you don't feel too congested or packed, and the high roof makes it more breathable. We started off with the mocktails. There's something to please everyone's taste buds. Listing down the ones I tried: Eden, Guava Martini, Watermelon and Basil Refres...

The Pasta Rasta

If you have been in Hyderabad for a period of over 3 years or so, it is highly unlikely that you wouldn't have heard of Veneto. The place was all kinds of happening, famous and popular. But it shut down for a good amount of time, thanks to the metro construction. AND now, it's open again, with a different name and a different menu, albeit the setting and ambience remains the same. For those unaware, sitting at the roof of a building on Road 36, this place has the most soothing feels to it. If it's hot outside, grab a table indoors and be comforted by the AC. But around evening, as the sun decides to descend, the breeze makes the open air seating seem more lucrative than anything else. A view of the city, pretty decor, and light music— nothing sets the mood better. I'll stop romanticising the place, and get on to the main agenda. As the name gives away, they have mainly Italian cuisine to offer. They do have a full bar, for the liquid accompaniments to your food. Th...

Toro Churros - Madhapur

Churros is the new fad that refuses to die down. And the newest entrant in Hyderabad's churro scene is Toro Churros. Originally from New Zealand, the brand has a store in Mumbai, and this is their second outlet in India. The young owners of Mumbai's master franchisee have personally setup the place to match the standards to the international ones. It stands at the erstwhile location of Pabrai Ice-cream, on the busy main road of Madhapur. It takes up half the space of a lesser known café, and their side of the walls display what the menu enlists. Seating capacity is not much, but they also have few tables set outside. Onto the food, broadly speaking, the menu is divided into desserts, savouries and drinks. 🔸 Savouries 🔹Savory Churros: Uncoated churros serves with your preferred dip. It comes in the form of a conical stand, with the dip's cup hanging by the side. We had Chipotle sauce, which was kinda tangy and chatpati, and Cheese and Jalapeño, which was great as i...
