India Bistro's this branch sits comfortably next to Glocal Junction, in the Tanishq building. We wanted to go out for a team lunch last Friday, with limited amount of time available. This happens to be close by, and so we called up to book a table. Despite trying to make a reservation just half an hour prior to visit, they readily complied.
We were given the table that is beyond the makeshift partition, which was good, as we had an entire space to us 14 people. The decor is dim, but lit enough to not be dark. The ambience falls in the better ones' category.
We had opted for buffet, and the starters were brought directly on to the table. Though the vegetarian starters were limited, each of them tasted quite good! There was Veg Sheekh Kebab, Paneer Tikka, Aloo Chaska and Hara Bhara Kebab. This was one of the rarest occasion that I liked the Hara Bhara Kebab. There was hint of cheese in them as well. Aloo Chaska was quite great, too, and we had repeatedly ordered two rounds of that.
The mains here has an elaborate set of vegetarian dishes: Makai Palak, Dal Tadka, Bhindi Do Pyaza, Matar Paneer, Jeera Aloo, Kadhi Pakoda, Sem ki Bhaji.
The rice items were Plain rice, Lucknowi Biryani and Curd rice. There were multiple salads as well (check the pictures). The soups, however, were limited to two—one each for vegetarian and non vegetarian. In veg, it was Tamatar Shorba. Besides this, you had the option of Dahi Vada and Chana Chaat. Needless to mention, there were papads, too. Fryums and Sabudana papad, to be specific.
The desserts, excluding the over-the-counter ice-creams, were all great! There was strawberry mousse, fruit custard, Mango cheesecake, Sheer Khurma, Lauki ki Kheer, Baalushahi, cut fruits, and ice creams. Got nothing to complain here! Loved the entire spread.
The complimentary drink for that day's buffet menu was buttermilk, but when requested, the server got it changed to Virgini Mojitos. Which brings me to point out that the service here is lovely! We couldn't help but thank our server, wholeheartedly, while leaving.
Bonus: Because of our good headcount, they made one non-veg buffet on the house. So, reduced bill, yay!
In a nutshell, had an extremely pleasant time here.
