CIBO House - Hi-Tech City

CIBO happened on a weeknight, when we were looking for a place to dine at.

We made reservation via Zomato, and easily got a table for 2. Reaching a few minutes before 8.30 p.m., our scheduled time, we found the place to be completely empty. The crowd had not started coming in yet, and we got thought it was better to clarify if there would be buffet served or not. Upon confirmation, we took our table, and promptly a server informed of us about the course of buffet.

Because neither of us were interested in soups, we asked the starters to be brought in. There were 4 starters in the vegetarian, and a lot more in the non-vegetarian plate. Also, we had the option of choosing one of the mocktails, that would be refilled unlimited times. We preferred the Virgin Mojito, which was average, and nothing special to boast of.

In the starters, cheese stuff mushroom was the best one, hands down! I like the Cauliflower Crostata as well, followed closely by the Aioli Baby Potatoes. The Peri Peri Cottage Cheese was too high on the chilli, and didn't enjoy it that much. Both the dips served, Honey Mustand and  Spicy Chilly were good accompaniments.

Next on the table were main thin crust pizza. The serving size is 2 slices of a small pizza, and we tried both of the vegetarian options: 3 cheese and Grilled Mexican Veggies. While the latter was good, the former could have been more cheesier. The Lasagna came in quite a small bowl, that can be gulped down in 2 spoons, flat. Nothing great flavour-wise either. Same held true for White Sauce Pasta as well. Didn't quite enjoy these.

But the let-downer was the main course. Everything felt like it was done half halfheartedly, and there wasn't much taste in anything.

The desserts, on the other hand, were brought the night to a good close. Though not all were standing out, but most of them were decent. The caramel custard stood out for me, as did the moist and well done Tres Leches.

What did not rhyme with me the cost that is charged for a buffet of such limited varieties, with only two or three dishes shining through.

Damages for one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian buffet dinner were somewhere close to 1800 bucks.
